On Wednesday, June 16, a delegation led jointly by the Managing Director of Hyundai Company Ltd, Mr Ganesh Ghadale and Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission, Mr Oscar Neizer, visited the Ministry of Energy to launch the first 100% electric vehicle.

A Hyundai car was offered to the Ministry to test its performance and provide constructive recommendations before its introduction in Ghana for commercial purposes.

This initiative is in line with the government's stated commitment to support the use of renewable energy in the automotive industry, which should help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Technology is a crucial element to supporting Africa's energy transition as this is widely regarded as driving down investment costs while maximising productivity.
